Would I get enough benefits from the Professional or Ultimate upgrade
of Windows 7 to justify the additional cost? Or, would the Home
Premium Upgrade provide all that I am likely to ever need or use.
I just built a new desktop computer, then installed my old boxed copy
of Windows XP Pro Slipstreamed to SP3 on this new computer. I
completed the on-line authorization and license process and have a
legitimate version of XP Pro up and running. It checks out very well.
There are no other programs installed and I plan to buy then install
some level of Windows 7 tomorrow. This will be a "fresh" install with
the existing Windows XP Pro wiped out after the installation process
is satisfied that the computer is qualified for an upgrade version of
Windows 7.
I will use this computer largely as my home accounting/tax work
center. I plan to buy and install Intuit Quicken 2010 and use it as my
accounting software.
In addition I do a lot of image file work with Adobe Photo Shop and I
do some AutoCAD drawings. Other than these jobs, this computer is my
Internet access means and my genealogy work system. I don't plan to do
any gaming on this computer, or on any other computer, for that
matter.
My question is, would I get enough benefits from the higher priced
levels of Windows 7, or should I go with the Home Premium level? What
do the more expensive levels offer that I might need?
Thanks, Gordon
