Hello
I was just wondering what virtual memory is.
When we are on the internet sometimes this message comes
up on the bottom right hand corner of the screen that our
virtual memory is low.
Does this mean that we need more memory for our computer?
Thanks for the help.

Low on hard drive space????

When memory fills up, Windows swaps items out to the hard drive. On XP the
file to which it swaps the items is called the "pagefile." This is virtual
memory. If you have less than 256MB of ram, that's physical memory, that it
might help to add more physical memory if your system supports it. If you
have 256MB or more of physical memory, the problem is likely due to either
insufficient space allotted to the pagefile (the pagefile is dynamic and
grows and shrinks depending upon need and free space on the drive) or the
minimums and maximums set are preventing the drive from growing to
accommodate your system's needs.

If you have 256MB of physical memory or more, try the following. Open
Control Panel, open System, go to the Advanced tab, click Settings under
Performance, go to the Advanced tab, click Change under Virtual Memory,
place a check next to "System managed size," click set and ok, reboot the
system and see if you continue to have the issue.
