Hi,
It is a database file containing the small images displayed when you
view a folder in "thumbnail" view .If thumbnails are crowding your hard
drive, consider changing the View menu setting to something other than
Thumbnails. To turn off this feature and save a bit of disk space,

Click the Start button
Select Control Panel
Select Folder Options
Click the View tab
Check "Do not cache thumbnails"
Click the OK button

Hello everyone,
I have found on all my files a file called Thumbs.db I do not know where
it came from, but it is on all my files.
Does anyone know anything about it? I am running XP Pro on a Dell computer.
It did not show up until a couple of weeks ago. Tried to send a screen
capture of a file, but to dumb to figure that out. Thank you in advance
Bob

This file is created when you select to view the files in a folder as
thumbnails. (View/Thumbnails) This file contains information similar to a
catalog for all of the image files in that folder. It's intention is to make
these thumbnails display faster when the folder is opened. You can safely
delete these thumbs.db files, if you wish.
