Hi,

I just migrated from Win98. (Go ahead and have a good laugh.) When I open up
my Start menu and go to All Programs, I see that some of the programs are
sometimes highlighted. It does not appear to be the programs I've used most
recently, as I thought it might be. Can someone tell me how this feature
works, and how to turn it off?

Thank you,

Jamie

To remove the silly menu right click on the Start button
and select "Clasic Start Menu".

mc.

No need to goto the classic start menu:
Right click start button, properties, start menu tab, customize, advanced
tab, uncheck: highlight newly installed programs.

XP seems to highligh programs that have recently been installed. The
highlighting goes away after you use the program (maybe more than once ...)

As purplehaz said, "Right click start button, properties, start menu tab,
