The access database is a "relational" database where several different
tables are "joined" to share information better. Plus Access is a dedicated
database program with many many more features for complex databases.
Anything can be used as a "database", from a simple Word table to Excel to
Access to SQL and Oracle. It all depends on the complexity of what needs to
be done.
