What is SearchBar?

Bill

I have a thing called SearchBar located on top of my taskbar (above the
start button and all). I tried Spybot S&D, but that didn't get rid of it. I
thought it could've been Kazaa, but I uninstalled that and SearchBar is
still here. I ran Adware, or Adaware, I forgot the exact name, but that
couldn't get rid of it either.

Anyone know what I could do with this?

Thanks.

SearchBar is one of those scumware programs. I usually remove spyware
with both Spybot S&D and Ad-aware because 1) they're free; 2) I find
they complement each other. Be sure to update both programs before you
run them, and it is most useful to run them in Safe Mode. I would
definitely try running both those programs again. You might also want
to check out the forums on www.spywareinfo.com, which is a terrific
resource for information about all sorts of malware.

Right click on the taskbar. Select 'Toolbars'. See if an
entry exists for your "searchbar". If so, click on that to
remove the check mark or other indicator. The toolbar should
deactivate. Then you may be able to remove the files through
uninstall, adware removal, etc.
