Hi
I am in the tedious process of trying to cure the problem of "freeze ups",
and have seen a name (above) in the startup list in MS Config.
I have unticked it and rebooted OK, but the freezing problem is intermittent
so cannot say if this cures it, plus I may need to find the source of above
exe file, the unistall if possible?

TIA

Hello Terry,

My guess is that it may be a service of some sort. Have not heard of it before.

Use the following tools to do some research. See where PRISMSVR shows up, and what folder it resides in.

Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel

Silent Runners, which will help to determine which programs are auto-loaded at each Windows startup

The page has an FAQ link. If you need more guidance see "Using the script"
http://www.silentrunners.org/sr_scriptuse.html

Be aware Silent Runners is a script. You may need to tweak your antivirus or security program to allow it to run.

A simple google search on that exe name would have told you where it came
from and what it does ...

A quick Google search indicates that PRISMSVR.EXE may be part of the
software for a Prism Wireless network adapter. Do you have such an
item installed in your computer? Prism is now part of Conexant I
believe.

Good luck
