Will the next version of PowerPoint be only server based as part of Office
Live? Is there going to be such a thing as PowerPoint 2006? Will upgrades be
available from PowerPoint 2000, XP and 2003?

Thanks

From what I've seen online, there's no hint whatever that that'll happen in the
upcoming version. I'd be interested in knowing about it if you've seen
suggestions that it will be server-based.

MS has already announced that there'll be an Office 12 that'll include
PowerPoint. What it'll be called is anybody's guess; as far as I know, MS
hasn't announced an upgrade policy.

Given the number of people still using Office 2000, I figure MS would be silly
to turn their upgrade cash away. That's just my bet though.

According to what I read here,

http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/default.mspx

PowerPoint will be part of Office 12, or whatever the final name is. In
fact here is a screen shot of it.

Yesa ton of new capability has been added so that it can talk to your companiesservers but like many features in Office you aren't required to use them.Austin MyersMS PowerPoint MVP TeamPowerPoint Video and PowerPoint Sound Solutions www.pfcmedia.com"Doctor Jay" <Doctor (e-mail address removed)> wrote in messageWill the next version of PowerPoint be only server based as part of Office> Live? In general, sometime next year. News reports say the beta-1 will be out in
a few weeks.
