What is "Default User", can I delete if don't use?

George

There are two WinXP-pro PC's here, I'm doing some spring cleaning and
noticed that (only) one has a "Default User" logon account like below, and
I'd like to know if I can delete it without causing any problems:

-----------------------------
My Computer
Local Disk (C:)
Documents and Settings
Administrator
All Users
Default User (very old folders, can I delete)
Alice
George (admin priviledges)
--------------------------------

This "Default User" has mostly all very old folders, dated 7/1/2003, when
this PC was bought, so maybe Dell set it up before delivering PC. It
doesn't look like this Default User was ever used. I'd just prefer to keep
active things like All Users, and so forth

Thanks, would appreciate several opinions on this.

The 'Default User' folder is a template which XP uses to assign a profile to
each new user. Don't remove it.
