What Is "cisvc.exe"??

According to my AntiSpyware/AntiVirus logs, a file named "cisvc.exe" is
attempting to launch (it was blocked) a file named "cidaemon.exe", every 5
minutes for the past 2 weeks!!!

I've run a full scan with the latest spware and antivurus definitions,
totally emptied all "Temp" files, History ... everything. Nothing came up. I
even did a full search of the registry for even a hint of either file name!
Again, nothing! Nothing in the "StartUp" folder. Checked everything via the
"run/msconfig" command ... nothing out of the ordinary is loading on bootup

How can I find out what program these 2 files are associated with or why the
are attempting to launch??

HELP!! it's driving me nuts!!!!

Cisvc is a microsoft file used for indexing. Cidaemon.exe is also used for
indexing.

Indexing service creates indexes of documents on your hard drive
allegedly to allow "fast file searching." You can find out more in Help
& Support. To turn Indexing Service on or off, open "My Computer,"
right click on each hard drive and check or clear the box to "allow
Indexing Service ..."

Many people do not consider Indexing Service to be a worthwhile use of
your computer's resources:

For example:
"Windows XP may run slowly and you may see multiple symptoms in Windows
Task Manager" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899869/en-us

With your explanation and remedy, I was able to "turn-off" the restriction
my anti-virus/spyware software to allow it access - PROBLEM SOLVED!!

Thanks again!!
