Login Identity - What is it?

Sporatically, on startup, 'Login Identity' pops up with my full name and
requests a password. Nothing I supply it with is 'Valid' so I opt for the
cancel button and away it goes. Nothing seems to be impacted and everything
works as usual. Windows XP SP3. Did it with SP2 too.

Possibly this is coming from some third-party program you have installed. HP
has a credentials manager that is similar. Examine what programs you have
installed and what is starting with Windows.

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the newest version of Adobe reader along
with Acrobat and locked up reading a 100+ page PDF doc. Finally powered down
& restarted - and then that Login appeared. HP Knowledge base has a topic on
it but haven't had a chance to muddle through it. It seems to be heading in
the direction of Network security. I'm not using Network & have it disabled.
