What is a good image editor?

In the past I have relied on Ulead Smartsaver to optimize images for my
website. The prog was great for reducing the size of images to an absolute
minimum.

However, Smartsaver does not seem to work with Win XP.

Anyone have any suggestions for a similar "image optimizer"? (Can't afford
Photoshop!)

What you'll need to do is right click that program from within the directory
and choose the compatiblity tab. Then choose one of the other operation
systems until it does work. Also, re-install it first before you try this.

We use SmartSaver Pro without problem on XP with the SP2 update!!!!!
