Image paths for FP 2003, need a relative path!

When I publish my website to my host, the images do not appear. I have called my host, and they suggest that I use a relative path rather then an absolute path. When I right-click over the image, the URL refers back to my local directory in My Webs, where it needs to refer to the URL on the remote server.
For a while, I thought it might have something to due with the type of image editor I was using and making the paths absolute, but I don't think that is the problem.
Somehow, FP'03 has a default that prevents the remote server from displaying my images with relative paths. Frankly, I not sure where to go from here, very confusing. I am new to publishing--designer--and would appreciate step-by-step.
I am wondering, and I will detail how I am saving these image files from the start, hoping that somehow you all can help me identify my wrong, or right.
Creating image/graphic: In Adobe Photoshop 7, and saved as a jpg/gif [image.jpg] (now should I be saving otherwise?)
Inserting image/graphic: I have been going to >insert>from file, and basically the image is placed on the preview. (Should I import, which would then reassign the path to match the published URL?)

When working with any version of FP, always open a web / site first, then either create or import
all content into the current open FP web prior to using (linking), etc.

To solve this problem, you need to:

1. Use File, Open Site to open the folder that contains
your site, and only then modify the site.
2. Always add picture files first to your site, and
then to your page. For example:
a. Drag the picture file from Windows Explorer and
drop it into the FrontPage Folder list.
b. Drag the picture from the FrontPage Folder list
and drop it onto your Web page.
