What if I swap unfinished cartridges?

Epson Stylus Photo 1270.

What if I open new cartridges, swap them with the unfinished ones in the
printer, make a few prints, then swap them again, store the newer ones for a
couple weeks, and when needed do the same operation again?

Could the ink dry out? Or clog ???

The reason is that it could let multiple users have each one a personal
cartrdige and use it when they want...

Thanks

If the cartridge is chipped then you can do this. Put them in a ziploc bag
between uses.

They're original Epson (T007 & T009)..... a small plastic bag will do?

Riochester Inst. of Tech. does this with all their students in the
photography class. They take their cartridges from lab to lab. Printer has
empty cart. in that they take out, put theirs in and then replace with the
empty cart. when they are done with no problem.
