what happened to my "filmstrip" function??

Somehow, my Windows XP My Picture "View" pull down menu no longer includes the Filmstrip option. Sure, it has the other five - thumbnails, tiles, Icons, list, details..... but not Filmstrip anymore. Anyone have any suggestions? How can I get it back. Thanks.
 
This is happening to me too and I think there are some other functions missing(eg slideshow on view list). I have XP Home edition.:-(
 
Do the following first.
Click on Start, click on Run and type the following in the opening textbox:
REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
and press the Enter key.
Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI...

Filmstrip is available only for image file folders. If the above does not
solve the problem, right click on the folder name, Properties and Customize
tab. Select Images for the type of folder you want.
