What files support DHCP Clients on w2k?

My neighbors son had access to his computer for a 1/2 hour.
Now ipconfig can't obtain a new lease because several
components in the WAS subsystem are missing. I have another
W2k box. I'd like to just drop the files in.

?

Did junior say what he did?? You might try reinstalling tcp/ip as shown in the KB
link below. If that does not help then try System File Checker sfc /scannow being
sure to have the install disk handy. If that does not help you may want to try an
"upgrade install" that basically reinstalls the operating system on top of itself
keeping applications and data intact, but requiring a reinstall of service pack and
critical updates. -- Steve
