What file is the Windows Registry stored in?

I have to backup the Registry and don't know what file it
is stored in.

Can someone please tell me the full path for the Registry
in Windows XP Home Edition?

You can't back up the registry just by copying files. A backup is made
daily as part of the System Restore system - check at
Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore
and start on 'Restore to a previous time' to see the calendar with
available restore points.
