I hate to break your heart like this but your video card doesn't
support MCE. Please refer to this:

http://ati.amd.com/buy/promotions/mcesolutions/index.html

You will see that currently the GT series card not on the list.

The "standard" AIW X1900 is based on the X1900XT, with full 16 ROPs and 48
pixel shaders, albeit at a lower clock speed. It is very different from an
X1900GT: http://techreport.com/reviews/2006q1/aiw-x1900/index.x?pg=1

ATi's web site doesn't seem to list an AIW X1900GT. Is your card
ATi-branded, or made by a partner like Powercolor or MSI?

The other possibility is that ATi's MCE2005 card list is simply out of date.
For example, the X1950XT(X) cards are not listed, which is highly suspect
because the X1900 and X1950 cards differ only in memory clock speed and can
even be mixed in a Crossfire configuration.

Now, going back to your original question, in addition to the Catalyst
bundle, you need the Multimedia Center (MMC) software:

You need ATIs software encoder for the card to function in MCE. Supported
cards have a hardware encoder, that aside the tuner should work in MCE.

I have a different model but mine needs "ATI MCE Transcode." I would think
the CD or ati's /find a driver/mce/whatever would take you there though.
