My virus scan keeps giving me this messsage:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\system.LOG

It tells me that the program can't read it. Is it important that this is fixed
so I can read it?

Nan

It can't be read because the XP system is using it. i.e. in use.
I wouldn't worry about it. There are several files that are in use by the
system and can't be read.

No. THe system has that open so that it can log changes to the registry
into it. which means nothing else can open it to read or write - and
that includes malware. Those files are safe enough
