ERR invalid user name or password
I'll assume you typed your password correctly, using capital letters where
required and lower case where required.

For account name some ISPs want just the part before the '@' and some want
the whole email address.

I got the following message and my email account won't send or receive mail
anymore as of today:
"An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'Roadrunner E-mail', Server:
'POP-server.austin.rr.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x80004005"
Can anyone tell me what to do to get my email working again? I disabled the
"scan email" function in AVG and I made sure that "Hang up ..." isn't turned

After reading some of the other "unable to send messages" comments, I
installed WMUtil151 and my email is working properly. It scanned my Windows
Mail databases and said that one of them was corrupted and fixed it. I hate
it when a perfectly good software and computer suddenly turn on me!
Cheers!

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled.
