Can anyone please tell me what the quarantine area is for in outlook 2000,
under outlook today. I can't find anything in the help section or on the
windows website, and I don't want to pay £35.00 for the privelage of
microsoft support telling me either!!

thanks

I've never heard of a Quarantine area in Outlook Today. Might you have a
custom today page? Or do you mean there's a Quarantine folder under the
Outlook Today header in your folder list? If so, maybe another utility added
it, possibly one of the Symantec suite

No version of Outlook has a "quarantine" area. If you see one, it's due to
an add-on, possibly an antivirus program.

Hi Vince
Thanks for responding. I've never heard of it either but it shows in the
folder list. Its got inbox, journal, notes, outbox and then quarantine. It
seems to be standard on my colleagues pc's too but nobody here knows what its
for either.

If it is Symantec (sounds plausible) then it will be within Program Files
then either "symantec" or "Symantec antivirus" depending on the version of
the client you are running.
