i have visited www.labs4it.com and check out their sample demos portion. I
found it quite on teh spot and genuine. All i wanna know is if any of you
visited that site and check out demos of windows XP. should i become a
subscriber of that site or not. What are your opinions.

It looks like they charge for what MS gives away free.

Here's my two cents...

Nevermind the fact that they are providing information that is freely available elsewhere, mostly from Microsoft directly. Let's assume the information and training they have is very useful and has value.

Their samples are lovely. For example, disabling the Shutdown Tracker in Windows 2003 is a "nice-to-know" bit of information to stop those nag messages. However, their "How to Test a Simple and Recursive DNS Query" is a bit of a no-brainer because the Monitoring tab of the DNS Properties dialog has two check boxes that say "Simple Query" and "Recursive Query" along with a big button that says "Test Now" on it. Even so, let's call that another "nice-to-know" bit of information.

However, when my computer problems become NEED-TO-KNOW, I bet their value and usefulness drops to NIL. What are the steps for checking the integrity and defragging an Exchange Server mailstore database? How do I troubleshoot and solve delivery problems with the POP3 Connector in Small Business Server 2003? How do I share a Quickbooks file on the server so multiple Quickbooks clients can properly use it?

Those are computer problems that often come up but are rarely touched upon in these tips, tricks, and standard practices type training sites.

My two cents... send your money to me, I'll give you my email address and might even answer one of your questions on occassion.
