Hello,

I'm trying to install Win XPe from a CF on a PCM-9579 (an advantech
motherboard) plugged with a PCM-3620 (an USB controller card from
Advantech)... So far, I managed to make Win XPe boot from the CF card
but... I don't really know if the PCM-3620 is properly detected, or if
the driver installed on Win XPe for this card is the properly one... I
would like to use the Device Manager like in a classical Win XP so that
I can find out if there's a driver conflict or whatever, at least
checking if the PCM-9320 is managed correctly... For now, no USB
devices can be recognize, not even an USB Flash (even with the USB mass
storage or USB storage components installed in Win XPe)...

If anyone have an idea of how to resolve my problem, please tell me, it
would be really nice.

Thanks.

I might be wrong, but I suspect it's 'Device Manager'. You might have to
drop the minvisibility to see it, I've not checked.

If you want its visibility from the control panel, add also "System Control
Panel".

Hello,

Depending on your image size you have few option.
Device Manager can be started if you have "devmgmt.msc" file included in your image and all dependencies resolved. You just start
this file.
Alternative solution is to use devcon.exe this is console equivalent of device manager.

If you do not want to damage your image by adding to much stuff then you can analyze setupapi.log after XPe is installed.
On lover level you can also monitor driver stack trough remote kernel debugging.

Slobodan
