What Causes Print Failure of PDF files?

Does anyone have any advice how to correct the problem with certain
attachments? I get pdf files or other files opened in Photo Studio 2000, and
for some reason the printer starts printing the file, and then it stops and I
get a message saying "document failed to print." This happens with certain
documents and not others in attachment. Does it have anything to do with DSL?
I cut and paste the document into Word and it prints. I already reinstalled
the printer software and downloaded Foxit as an alternative to Acrobat
Reader, but it still happens. The senders have no problem printing.
Thanks.

Save the .pdf files to a new hard drive folder, then open the .pdf file.

I tried the workaround, but it didn't help. I even renamed the file. What
might be the source of this strange problem? Any new ideas will be most
welcome!
Thanks.

HP Technical Assistance emailed me and informed me that the problem is due to
the fact that PDF files use java script, whereas the printer uses PCL. I had
to simply install a different printer - HP 3420. This solved the problem.

Thank you. Actually someone at my printer HP company informed me that it is
due to a code conflict. They told me to install a different printer and use
it rather than my existing printer as the default when printing pdf. It works
fine now.
