What Are These Files

Whenever I run a virus scan i have files that i cannot
find on the computer but the virus checker finds about
700,000 of them
it is in C:\windows\system32\my-computer\modscn\2004-05-
09_23-04-19\img0001.gps
I approx 12000 of these .gps files for every day from may
9 to present and they have consumed about 25 gigs on my
hard drive but i can only find them in virus scan mode

Any help in what they are and how to get rid of them is
appreciated

To see files I would go to my computer, select c drive(or
where ever your windows files are) On tools(where file
edit ect is) select folder options , click view, under
hidden files and folders select show hidden files and
folders

Select one file. Have your virus proctection check that
file. Then if ok Open and maybe you'll get more
information of what this is.

Check event viewer. See if red colored events that
correspond with these files.

One other thing, I'm not away of any worms or spyware
that does this run some scans for that too.

did you at any time have a GPS attached to your system?
If so, then there may have been an "autosave" feature
turned on that tracked you wherever you went. The
extension of "gps" suggests this.
