What are the VPN ports required on router ?

Hi,

Trying to setup a VPN between XP stations located on a wan, I need to open
ports on the router. I did open ports 1723, 500 and 43 but still no
connection. I can see the "User and password verification process" but no
connection happens. Loggin on the remote admin account on a peer to peer
network.

The router is a DLINK DI-604 and the VPN Passthrough and IPSEC passthrough
options have been enabled.

What did I miss ?

TIA

If you are getting ERROR 723, then your router does not properly support
GRE - this is assuming that you are trying to VPN (PPTP) inbound to a
device behind the DI-604 router.

One trick that works, sometimes, is to forward port 47 to the internal
server through the router - which GRE is not TCP/UDP 47, some routers
will allow inbound GRE if you do this.

Check and see if your router has a firmware update and check on the D-
Link site for a VPN INBOUND setup document for that model.

I finally figured out what was the problem! I did configure the remote
router properly but forgot to open the local router to PPTP and IPSec
passthrough. Now everything works beautifully.

Thanks
