What antivirus program do you recommend?

I am using McAfee Total Protection right now. I've also loaded a
spyware doctor program, adware program and a registry repair program to
try to fix my computer. Now it works fine so long as you don't shut
the computer off. If I turn it off than I have to unplug my DSL and
run all computer scans again to keep it from automatically restarting
itself after a few minutes. After I run the scans than I can turn DSL
back on and my computer works ok again unless I turn it off.

install avast! anti virus and webroot spysweeper run a boot time scan
with avast and run a spysweep in safe mode.. sounds like you are
infected.

....also, stop using Internet Explorer and use something a little less prone
to permitting the bad events. You may want to try Opera or Firefox. Both
are free. Become educated on "Safe Hex" practices.
