What about all these listings in my "Add & Remove Progrms" Hotfixs

I'm running out of space on my HD, and wanted to clean it out somewhat. So As
I'm looking through my "Add and Remove Programs" to uninstall some apps that
I haven't used in months and/or years, I came accross a long list of:
Security Update for Windows XP (KB890046)
" (KB893066)
" (KB8893756)
and 15 more just like those 3...
then a short way down in the same "Add and Remove Programs" box I see:
Windows XP Hotfix (KB810217)
(KB821557)
(KB823182) - - - Then about 18 more of these as well.

I want to know what they are?
Are they already installed?
or Waiting to be installed?
Because unlike all the other applications in the "Add or Remove" box, these
don't have size amounts next to them such as:
"Size 5.06MB - Windows Media Player Hotfix Q828026"

Should I install or uninstall all these to get room on my HD? How important
are they?

When I click on one of them IE:
"Windows XP Hotfix - KB823182" then it's in a grey hilight box, that says,
"Use the following information to get technical support for Windows XP Hotfix
- KB823182
Publisher: Microsoft Corp
Version : 20030724.164017
Support Info" Http://support.microsoft.com?kbid-823182

and to be honest when I go to read about it, I don't really understand what
it's saying in those "explanations" anyway. So I don't know if I need them,
if they're installed, or waiting to be installed, and what should I do with
all these? If they're waiting to be installed how do I do that?

Please help

Thank You

P.S. I also am new to using this, and everytime I post a question, I can
never find it again to get the answers. Would you also please be so kind as
to drop me a note, stating that you answered my question, and then tell me
how I can get back to it to read what it was that you wrote.

Thank You again.

Sorry, It's me (Bruce) again, I didn't know how to add-on to that previous
post, but I wanted to add that I once installed Windows SP 2, and it caused
more problems that it was worth, so I don't have it installed anymore. In
case that helps with your answers.

Thank You
Bruce...
