Whack a DCOM server

We are getting DCOM errors on a Windows 2000 server. This started after
alot of software was installed and removed. The strange thing is that
the DCOM GUID is not in the registry or on the filesystem. Is there a
way to delete a DCOM server entry to prevent it from loading?

Thanks,

ChrisW

It's COM+ Event System, maybe the service is disabled? You could
disable it (DCOM Server) in dcomcnfg but I would only do that as a last
resort.
