I'm nervous having automatically dn/loaded &
installed the WgaTray.exe program from Updates....
I just did this 3 days ago. Has anyone removed
this update from their 'puter? If so are any
problems associated with doing so? I've read it
can be done hacking the registry and then deleting
wga* files from Windows. Thanks for replies.

The only real way to get rid of it is to reinstall XP. In the meantime,
you can block it if you have a firewall that isn't the Windows Firewall.

I wouldn't try any 'hacks' that you don't get from Microsoft KB. They don't
work and could cause your machine to show up as not being activated.

This may help. Read carefully.
