WES CTP (sp3) To WES 2009 RTM problem

I downloaded and installed the RTM eval over my CTP installation. Actually,
had to uninstall the CTP and install the rtm.

I went back and reimported my custom components, performed the configuration
upgrade and all looked well until I tried to build. Over 40% of the BASIC
xpe components now show "component not found in the database". I grabbed my
backup and compared the 2 and found that a LARGE number of components now
have different ComponentVSGUIDs than previously.

With custom settings for a number of components in my configuration,
reiniting the "bad" ones is not an option.

How can I correct this without 1) reverting to older component versions by
restoring the old DB AND 2) screwing up my current configurations and
spending tons of time rebuilding them ?

I backed up my previous db. Can I simply restore that one? Or are there
new things in the RTM db that I will lose?

In the RTM db, there are approx 1400 components that are showing imported on
9/22/2008. However, instead of importing to append the CTP list with new
componentIDs, they were replacements for the existing CTP componentIDs, now
with new ComponentVSGUIDs. Why these weren't simply imported as new upgrades
with new ComponentIDs is beyond me, but now it has made a complete mess of
our configurations.

Being a newb with XPe and TD, I'm not sure how to correct this. Does
anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ken

Are you using XPECmd to import your components?
The docs for XPE command state that it will delete all files in a
repository before importing files. THus, if you have any bug fix .SLD
files that access the Main XPE repositories, and they have been
imported using XPE cmd, that could cause such problems.

I just finished refactoring all of my components to have individual
repositories to allow automated import. So far, I am keeping the 3
bug fix components that access XPE repositories in a separate folder
and manually importing them with Component Designer.

After reading your message again, have you tried the "Configuation",
"Upgrade Configuration" menu item
at the top of Target Designer? Your post sounds like you have, but I
wasn't certain from reading it...
