I am all o f a sudden having issues where my welcome screen turns on every time i turn on my computer. I used to be able to turn my computer and be directed to my desk top without a welcome screen or having to log in. Someone, please help!

Click Start, Run and type "control userpasswords2", and click Ok. Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" option, and click Ok.

Hi

From Start>Run type in

control userpasswords2

then uncheck 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer' and click 'Apply'. On the next screen - 'Automatically Log On' -
delete the name 'Administrator' from the User name box and enter your
account name and then the password in the next two boxes. OK your way out
and then reboot your system.

Thanks for the tip. After I wrote the question I found the same advice you gave me, but you have to be carful when doing what you said. After you uncheck the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" option you must enter the username and passwoed you wish to automatocally log on with. If you use any other name than the one that you had all your settings on, you will lose the desktop the way it was previously configured. I had to do a system restore and then I repeated the process with the user name I had all my settings on. When the computer rebooted, it bypassed the welcome page and went straight to my desktop as I waanted it to.
Thanks again.
