Welcome Screen email notification

when my xp welcome screen is up, i get a "_ unread email message" notice that refers to my hotmail account (which i never use, just for .net access). on a machine i just installed, the same email notification refers to the user's outlook inbox, not hotmail. that would be helpful. how can i change which email account the welcome screen refers to? thanks in advance for any thoughts.

To remove an account or to change the count manually Go to:
Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[Your
E-Mail Address]. In the right pane modify: Message Count, Change it to 0.
