Weird shift key like behaviour

Hi there,

My Win2k machine is starting to intermittenly behave as if
the shift key as been pressed.

I am not only getting UPPERCASE characters but the number
keys are returning their Shifted values ie 1=! and 4=$ etc.
I know this might happen infrequently and is resolved by
pushing the ctrl or shift or alt keys - however I am having
this occur a few times a day - Plus this happens with
different keyboards AND someone in my office is also
experiencing the same thing on his laptop.

I doubt it is hardware related ?

Any ideas are welcome .. (running Win2k Sp3 with current
patches)

My first guess would be that it *is* a hardware problem. Try another
keyboard to see whether the problems persist.
