Weird Office Suite Problem!

hey! i hope you can help me out, i can't believe what just happened:

i needed to reset some options and fix a glitch in microsoft word, so i ran
the detect and repair option. i didn't have the office disc at the time, but
despite a few sku112.cab problems, i still got it to work.

....but now, excel and outlook don't work! i found out about the safe mode
for these programs, and i found and used the office disc to fix most of it.

excel is running fine, but i can't seem to recover ANY of my outlook 2003
files! does anyone know what might have happened to something that should
have been so simple??? i've searched my computer for .pst files, and i've got
nothing. am i missing something? why on earth would a simple Word fix cause
so many problems for everything else?

any help would be much appreciated!

Outlook's PSTs are, by default, kept in hidden folders. Unless you enable
the viewing of hidden files and folders, searching won't find them.
why on earth would a simple Word fix cause so many problems for everything
else?

You did a repair on all of Office. Why wouldn't it affect other Office
applications?
