Weird little problem:

J

John

My problem shows up in various desk-top situations, but I think the best way to
describe it is this:
When I click on the "Start" button, the Start menu pops up. (Naturally: So far
so good.)
Now, if I move the cursor back to the "Start" button (without pressing any
button on my mouse) the Start Menu disappears. Every time - no exceptions.

Under other conditions (during certain operations), a button may appear in the
start bar with an associated panel higher on my screen.
As soon as I move the cursor away from the start bar through a "blank" area of
the screen (which is the only way to get to that panel), this panel (on which
some option buttons are shown) disappears, making it impossible to select one of
the options.

I have checked all the various settings I can think of, but can't lick this
problem.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

In your Mouse settings, is there a hover option setting the time over the
the object to activate it?

If so, just set it for a higher number of seconds.

Thanks for the suggestion, Jerry.

But n0 - I don't see any such option.
Anyway, it happens regardless how long I leave the cursor in one place.

Anyone else . . . .?

First thing I'd try is to see if it was a hardware problem and try a
different mouse/keyboard combo.
