I have a user who somehow managed to create some sort of watermark in a
document but it looks like a numbered list where #1 is simply a row of
hyphens. In the doc - it is grey. It is NOT in the footer, I can't seem to
find handles to move it forward as an object, I can't figure out any other
weird ways she could have embedded this. Its not linked to anything I can
tell by. But her secretary is going nuts because she wants it gone!

Any ideas? I didn't attach the doc, but I can if you want to see it.
Thanx,
-Monica

Monica, I too have done the same. My weird watermark
looks like a lined writing paper. No other marks.

Lines are very light Blue/Grey equally spaced
horizontally accross the page. It appears every time I
click NEW to write a letter - standard template.
However if I am lucky, I get a matrix like graph paper
with 1/16th squares. (thats 3mm in Europe).

Have you had an answer, If so let me know please!

Many thanks, George Frost

That was not it. But Thanks. When in Page Layout view, the image looks like
it is in the Header/Foter. But when I go to Header/footer, it is still grey,
as if it is within the body of the document. I think it may be linked in
some bizarre way to Footer #1, but I can't figure out how??

This could be a stationery selection (Format | Background).
