Suddenly, earlier today the PC started acting weird.
When opening Internet Explorer, the window would open, then it would loose
focus, followed by Explorer flashing orange in the task bar. When clicking
in the window, so window would gain focus again, it would start flashing.
The flashing can best be described as if someone would press <F11>
constantly. I checked the button was not stuck. (I have a dual boot system -
the other one works fine!) Sometimes I manage to stop the flashing and
notice the screen has entered "full screen" (F11) mode.
The system is completely out of control. I can only close the window using
task manager.
I gave up on the problem and reinstalled XP (quick format partition). Guess
what! On a clean install it appeared straight away.
The problem also occurs with windows explorer and control panel.
What could possibly be wrong??? Has anyone ever seen anything like it?
Does a virus/trojan exists that sends <F11> keypress messages?
Any ideas 'n pointers greatly appreciated.
