Weird download issue - please help

M

Mark G.

When I used to click on an item for download, the right dialog box would
come up and then I would choose where to download the item. No for some
reason out of the blue, when I click on something to download, it
automatically downloads it to the windows temp folder on my C: drive and
then opens win zip for extraction. Yes, this is only for WinZip items so
far, but figured it might be related to IE. Any ideas or help on this
please? Thanks much.

Confirm Download Dialog Box -

1. Open Explorer
2. Click the TOOLS menu
3. Select FOLDER OPTIONS
4. Then select FILE TYPES tab

Locate the file type (extension), click ADVANCED and click EDIT.
Note the "confirm download" box. Check it.

I have the same problem with XP, sp2 - Zip files will not download - I have
tried changing the options as shown below - but they still do not download.
If there is a link that I can right click and choose "save as" - I can get
them, but if someone sends me a link via email or other way, I can not get
the file.
