Weird carbled display on windows start

I just booted up with my new ati radeon 9800 PRO vard from Asus...

Now the screen looked all weird with some black lines across it...this is
the first time it has happend.

Now I took out the tv-out cable and rebooted and everything was fine?

What might cause this..any ideas?
 
Mine did the same thing randomly. It may have nothing to do with the cable.
I sent it back.
