Gawd I must be getting old how do I get to see the photos no links or am I missing something [besides a brain] :wall:

Ooooooops
Sorry Viv
was my brain still on honeymoon sorry

Thank you everyone :D :D :D
Yes Taffy, several people commented on how happy everyone was
John's brother & family went to another wedding shortly after getting home again & said how different it was.
We wanted to keep it relaxed & said right from the start that most of all we wanted to have fun
And the dress was indescribeable!
someone took a photo of me holding it up, matching the side seams to each other above my head, each of the 4 sections of the skirt was a half circle of cloth, making a full circle of cloth each for front & back & for two layers of skirt  You wouldn't've believed how heavy it was either
It was incredible
Haven't seen that photo yet though & can't remember who it was that took it. There were also some photos of me swirling the skirt around as well but still waiting/hoping for them to come in too.

Nah, Viv, the horse never had a chance :D
Although, not many women get to say that their husband arrived at the wedding on the back of another woman

Thank you rush :)
All of John's workmates are hassing him about the 'honeymoons over' & 'the old ball & chain' thing
& how I'd never let him do this that & the other now
to so many of them it's like Marriage means ownership & the right to treat each other like children.
Why on earth would I try & tell John what he could & couldn't do?
Or him me.
I don't understand it at all.
We both been grownups a long time now
(well, most of the time anyway  )
Oh well, that's the beauty of Marriage I suppose :)
You each get to make your own & don't have to follow anyone elses rules
& so far we are both very happy :)
Hopefully we'll still be saying that in 15 years :)
But, since all we ever have is today
Then today will do me just fine

& The scenery :)
yes, I love it here.
We decided to get Married at home mostly because,
Where could we go that was more beautiful
& it was great also in that everyone could just wander around & chat etc.
Several people went out the back to visit Pringle & Gabby
I had shut Pringle up in the paddock with Gabby for the wedding so he didn't get too frightened by too many people all at once.
But he certainly managed to make himself heard throughout the wedding

We kept things very informal,
One of John's boys turned up in his work clothes (he's a mechanic), rushing up the path, pulling his nice shirt overtop of his work clothes as he came,
He was asking John when the actual wedding was as he came up the path & John had to say we'd had it already :(
He'd run out of petrol on his way out to Port & had missed it :(
He was really bummed.
But he was in time for the food & one has to keep ones priorities straight
John's kids are cool
I'll put one of the 'Family photos' up in a minute.
In the photos Ash got My boy (he's the one in the tux) to stand in front of him to hide the stains on his trousers
But we were just glad to have him there whatever he was wearing
John's oldest boy lives in the UK & wasn't able to make it to the Wedding :(
But everyone else was there

It was a wonderful wedding
A wonderful day
& shared with some wonderful people :)
Yes, Happy

Magical more like :)

Yes :)
Definitely Magical

I put the rest of the piccys up.
There's one of me & my kids pre-wedding,
Aren't they wonderful :)

& one of the cake :)
Now that's a story in itself
My sister spent the entire day driving
Getting up at 4am & driving 11 hours in a van full of kids (one still in the screaming baby-toddler stage)
While pregnant & sick.
Then spent the entire next day baking the cakes & making that incredible sculpture out of icing
All ready for our Wedding the next day :)
Amazing aye
Reckon I've got a pretty wonderful family

& The family photo :)
There's my two bridesmaids on the left, Tomo & then John's daughter.
Then John & Me :)
John's two boys at the back with my boy/bridesman in front :)
John's Brother & Wife with their boy in front.
John's Mum
Then My Mum holding my Sister's boy
Then My Sister & her two girls :)

John's other Brother & family, and his Oldest Boy (well, he's 29 so maybe not a boy) & Fiance weren't able to get over from the UK, & my Sister's partner Had to stay up in the westcoast.
But asides from that this would be the entire 'immediate family)

:D Thanx :D

The cake was a Madiera cake as neither of us like 'wedding cake'
Madiera cake is John's favourite
& also just about the only other type of cake strong enough to take the weight of the icing sculpture without sagging :)
Gotta love coincinence :)

I've just been enjoying the rest of your photos, they have really captured the relaxed happiness of the occasion I think, as well as it's fairytale quality... just lovely:nod: Your sister is very clever to make such a beautiful cake it's great  and I love the photo of Pringle, he's gorgeous, I expect he was pretty curious about what was going on :D

:) Yes :)
A magical fairytale
whatever happens next, I won't ever forget that day :)
His mates at work made fun of him beforehand for being so romantic
in particular about the horse :)
But oh yeah, it was wonderful.
& you won't believe how many of the women came up to me afterwards & said they wished their guy would do something like that for them.

Pringle was just lapping it up
He is very curious & always wants to know what's going on so he spent most of the wedding bit there, behing the barrier I put on the bridge to shut him in the back paddock, shouting out at us to let him in
But despite his curiousity he is also very easily startled when there are strange people around being loud & moving fast/unpredictably so it seemed best to leave him back there (besides... I'm sure you can guess what geese do when they're startled... & I'd already had to hose the deck etc down once that morning before the wedding  )
several people went back though to see him &/or Gabby :)
& given that the barrier was quite heavy & awkward I think they must've gone down the long way & teetered across the creek on the plank down the bottom, then climbed back up again on the other side, to get to see them, so they must've been pretty determined

lol, probably more photo's of me here than i have in any photo album
I'm usually the one behind the camera
'sides, I've never liked having my piccy taken.
But was too happy to be self concious that day :)

PS: You see what I mean about not getting my hair done though
Was just 'finger-combed' after i washed it that morning, then i was so busy running around doing stuff that i ran out of time & didn't get it done
Luckily the style of dress suited the 'natural' look anyway so i was able to get away with it
& 3 different women complimented me on my hair

Funniest thing was, it was very windy that morning & so in most of the photo's I've got my hair all across my face.
Even my daughter had enough hairspray in her hair that she just got the whole... 'gentle breeze' sort of look
I think I was going more for the... 'windswept & interesting' thing

:) Aaaahhhh kindred spirit ;)

Sifted through some more photo's yesturday & found a few from our honeymoon 'first night' (Oi! Not that type of photo's! Get your mind out of the gutter  )

I'll try & get them up later today but have estimated that all the thank-you notes will be taking about a week when fitted in around 'real-life' so I may not get on much this next week so I may not be on much more than a quick check in the mornings :(

One bit of good news though
spent most of last week going over John's latest Job contract with a fine tooth comb (you should've seen the last one... it was scary! & his boss has developed a distinct wariness around me after I sent it back  )
And yesturday he got a promotion :D:D:D
He is now 'Production Supervisor'
Cool aye   :D

lol, oh for guestbooks
I think we've got a list of pretty much everyone who was there, but trying to figure out who gave what for the thank you cards :wall:
I think my brain was on hold for that day
I was talking to a friend today & she says the same thing about her wedding too.
The actual marriage is crystal clear, but much of the rest is a disjointed blur.
It's nice to know I'm not the only one

Still happy though :) :)
