banners, ads, popups etc. but also would allow PHP?

Sorry, (C)(R), I don't want to rant,
but you might wana ask yourself how a company that would provide this
service is paid?
I mean, Being a ISP costs money and without charging webmasters for their
services, how would they make a living out of it, or at least break even?
I'm always quite wary of providers with free hosting offers, as there is
always some sort of payment, and I rather know what and how much I pay for
their services.
The last free one I used (a long time ago btw) claimed copyrights on all
that was uploaded.
Go figue! It is not in use anymore (probably lost a lawsuite or something)
Just a little warning. It is not the same as producing free software.

That said you sill might ignore me (I would myself ;-) and cheack the
following sites,

http://www.freewebspace.net/search/power.shtml (Free Hosting service search
engine)
http://www.net-hosting.info/dir/free_webhosting__no_ads/index.shtml (some
links to free hosters)

Thanks MK
It is for a friend who just got married and they are really tight
financially. It is for their wedding pics and stuff and although I
(personally) have used GeoCities a few years ago, I was hoping there was
something available. As they are having a small website, I thought maybe
some "places" would provide a small amount of space (not huge GBs) and
that may whet the appetite to upgrade to a better "service" in the
future.
I will check out the links!
Thanks!!!

from what i've seen, every free web host out there has popups and ads
like crazy, not to mention no customer support or reliability. but
there are budget ones if you're interested. for example, i'm using the
host jatol.com, and for $30 a year (less than $3 a month!) there's
100megs of space, 2gb bandwidth, 1 php database, and fantastic customer
support (plus tons more stuff). also you get shell access which is
great. at that price you can't beat it.
