websites putting images in windows picture and fax viewer

I'm using outlook express to read my email. I received some photos in an
email the other day and when I opened windows picure and fax viewer to look
at them, I noticed that several websites I had been visiting had placed
pictures in windows picture and fax viewer. I found these pictures by
clicking the "next" button in picture and fax viewer. Is there any way to
see all the pictures that are in picture and fax viewer at one time rather
than go through them all one by one by clicking the "next" button? There
must have been several hundred in there by the time I got all the way back to
the first picture that I opened picture and fax viewer with.

The pictures are not in windows picture and fax viewer.
Are you opening the pictures without saving to the hard drive?
If you aren't saving to the hard drive, then to open the pictures, they are
placed in C:\WINDOWS\Temp\Temporary Internet Files.
Windows picture and fax viewer will show all pictures in
C:\WINDOWS\Temp\Temporary Internet Files.

Hi Chris,

Check in this folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Hi Chris

As Ron said, the pictures can't be "in" the Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer -- they have to be in a folder somewhere.

Look at one of the mystery pictures and then look at the title bar of
the Picture and Fax Viewer; it will show you the name of the file. Go to
Start > Search > For files or folders and type in the name you see.
Search will tell you where the picture is being stored.

Hope this helps.

I checked that folder as well and somehow windows picture and fax viewer is
still showing all kinds of pictures that do not appear in the temporary
internet files folder. I deleted the entire contents of the folder and there
still in there somehow. Could they be hidden files?

How did you delete the folder contents?
In Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files.
