I am not new to frontpage, but I am having an issue with FP'03. I used the
predesigned webpage using a 3 cell table (header with page links,Left content
and a main content). My problem lies in that I want to change the info in the
main area of the page with my other pages. How do I format that cell ONLY to
change content. Does the page have to be a .dwt? or is there a way to format
the cell only?

You're talking about Frames, not tables, which is what the pre-designed
template is that you mentioned.

I assume the links in your top frame change or load pages in the main frame,
so you need to change the individual pages that load in the main frame
(which load there due to the "target" set on the links in the "top" frame.

A DWT (dynamic web template) is used to design a site where some of the
content doesn't change, ie. titles, banners, menus - so they can be uniform
across the site, I don't know that you really need to use one here.

To load the pages within the frame, open the "index" page or your frameset,
then hold down Control key and click the link(s) in the top frame, that will
open each page in the main frame. then you can edit the pages and change
them as you see fit.

Once done, publish the site (changed pages).

There is no FP Page template using tables

There are Frames Templates w/ (header with page links,Left content | and a main content)
- individual pages in frames (some of which can be static)

There are Shared borders that create table from your page (top, left)
- common content for all pages in the shared border areas

And there are DWTs that you can apply to pages where you can have common content (non-editable regions) and unique page content
(editable regions)
- but you have to build the page in tables if you want them

I was wrong in the wording previously..... I have the page layed out like you
described in the answer to .dwt... I want the header, l content and links to
stay constant, but just want to have vistors click a link and change the main
content area with another page. Does this better describe my problem. Like
I said, Im not new to frontpage, but I am new to .dwt... thanks for your help
so far!

If you do not want the header and links to scroll, then you have to use a frameset, as you are
currently, but is not a good idea for search engine indexing.

When I say "constant" I don't mean "they don't scroll on the page" as with
using frames; I mean the content doesn't change eg having a menu on each
page. The DWT allows you to have a unifrom look and feel, and allows you to
add content to individual pages inside an editable area.
