Websearch Toolbar?

I picked up my wife's notebook PC yesterday and was using it, when I
noticed it had a WEbsearch Toolbar installed. I didn't install it and
she says she didn't, but she remembers a message about a toolbar.

I seemingly uninstalled it, but is it really gone? I ran Lavasoft
Ad-Aware and it found some new tracking cookies, but the PC is used to
surf, so that was not surprising. It is updated with all the MS
current patches.

Is this spy-ware or a bizarre virus?
