webport 80 errors

Pam

I'm still getting these errors after installing xp office w fp2002 on a new
hard drive - "could not find a web server at port 80" when I try to open
live on the web, or I get 'could not find a web server at localhost' when
publishg to my hard drive - however, when I click on OK to either of those
errors, it goes ahead and does the publishing or opening....anyone know why
I get these errors??

thanks

Pam,
It has to be something within XP, such
as a firewall setting.
Or, a program that you have installed, that
is trying to claim port 80.

There are no basic "Windows programs,"
such as Windows Explorer, IE or OE that use
port 80 for anything.

Some "Messenger" programs us it, as well
as FrontPage.

I don't have yahoo messenger, but I do have MSN messenger - and I have a new
thing on my task bar which I've never had before - its a little box called
SQL Server ServiceManager - its on Auto-start service when OS starts and
says \\Pamela - MSSQLServer - running
only ohter thing I have running is Norton ... anyhelp?

I also get this error when trying to open a site from my hard drive
(localhost):

SQL Server Error The SQL Server might not be started.Content-Type:
text/html; charset=windows-1252 Database access failed for this server. This
may be temporary due to maintenance reasons, or the server may be too busy
to respond. Please try again later.

seems like this is all connected...any ideas??

Pam
