Webpage Shortcuts & Custom Icons for "All Programs" in Vista

J

John Burke

I'm using Vista 64-bit Home Edition.

I've been unable to figure out how to do the following...

I'm trying to customize Start > All Programs by:

1. Adding a webpage URL as a shortcut so that, when I click on it, It
will take me to that webpage.
2. Once this shortcut is created, I want to use an *.ico I've created
as the icon for this shortcut.

How do I do these two things in Windows Vista?

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Hi,

Right click the desktop, choose new/shortcut. Type in or paste the web
address you want to use. Click next, give it a name and finish. Now drag
this icon to the start button, then to 'all programs' and drop it where you
want it. Re-open the program menu, locate your new link and right click it,
choose properties and there is a change icon button on the first tab.
