Webpage looks different in browser?

I have not very savvy when it comes to web design. I spend
all this time working on my web page and then in the
preview browser it looks totally different. How do I fix
this? I can't find any simple answers.

Preview in your "real" browser (Netscape, Opera, IE, Mozilla etc)....the preview
mode does not give you a real idea of the layout and look of the site.
