I had been sending form results to a email address I was
hosting on my email server. Everything worked fine.
Last night I changed the email address that the form was
to be sent to, and I'm getting a error like this:
FrontPage Error.
User: please report details to this site's webmaster.

Webmaster: please see the server's application event log
for more details.

What would cause a change in email address to do this?
I'm not there to check the logs, so I can't see what's
going on.

Thanks,
Steve

Was the email address also changed on the forms to email transport on the
host server?

What did the server's application event log say?

Tom,
You lost me. I did change the form, and used
the 'options', I believe that's the option, to change the
email address that I wanted the form sent to.

I'm not at the server, and can't check the application
logs for about 12 hours, but it just seems strange that
that one change of a email address is causing that
problem.

Sure, its www.scootervilleusa.com/contact.htm

I did find 1 thing in the email server logs, its saying
that it doesn't relay. That's a good thing, but I'm not
sure it makes sense. Is there an option in IIS to
require that email sent has to be from an authenticated
user in the server?

The same thing happened to me. I set up a form on a new web that should send data input to an email address. I have done this before with no problem, but now I get the same error message you got. Another web I set up weeks ago using this same proceedure works fine. I am not sure I know the right log to check. I checked the logs on my server via ftp, and even changed the premission setting to RW hoping that might help, but it didn't. Let me know if you figure out how to fix this.

If the email server doesn't relay you are restricted to sending emails to,
at most, domains hosted on that server, and perhaps restricted to
users-at-scootervilleusa.com.
Almost certainly the address in your form will be blocked by the "no
relaying" rule.

I sent my form in to a access database and now I need to know the "name" and "value" info that should go into the advanced properties fields in order to send the database input to an email. "If that makes any sence whatsoever?" This might not be the way to do it but I am about willing to try anything at this point!!!

Hi Robert,

I "mung" my personal email address when posting to newsgroups. This is one
method to help reduce spam:

http://members.aol.com/emailfaq/mungfaq.html

I don't mind receiving emails from people in regards to newsgroup postings
(although on list is often better) But there are so many spam harvesters out
there..that leaving a real email address is simply asking for more. If you
tried to reply to me directly from the group you would see AA as a portion
of my email address..which makes it invalid. You would need to manually
remove those 2 A's in order to contact me directly.

Remove "AA" for email

Did you change the email address to something other than was allowed by the
host?

BTW, the host server must have the email address set up in the server
extensions. It's not just done on your form properties.

Steve,

A URL would be helpful. It may be you accidentally alter
properties.

The FrontPage Error could indicate an extension problem,
but I see it primarily as a result of form properties
settings.
