WebDAV-compatible address book?

I'm looking for a simple address book / contact manager for Windows
that supports the iCal (.ics) file format and sync via a WebDAV server.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

John;

I've been looking for the same thing and have only started poking
around. The best one-stop reference I've found is:

Btw, if you happen to find one that works for you, pls post back!

Hi Craig,

I should probably clarify my original post: to be more accurate, I'm
looking for a simple Windows address book that will sync my contacts
with 1) my cell phone and, 2) some Web-based address book. It doesn't
necessarily have to be .ics format.

I signed-up for a free account at a great web site called MemoToo.com.
Among its many features, it will sync contact & calendar data with a
local client via WebDAV. It will also sync with my cell phone via
SyncML - very cool.

Anyway, here's what I've come up with so far:

Since I haven't been able to find a suitable address book that supports
..ics & WebDAV sync, I'm thinking of using an LDAP-based address book
instead. In lieu of installing MS Outlook (yuck), I'm probably just
going to use Mozilla Thunderbird as an address book *only* - a
little-known fact is that you can access the Thunderbird address book
directly by adding a command line argument:

thunderbird.exe -addressbook

Now all I have to do is get Thunderbird's address book to sync with my
MemoToo.com account - there are a couple of options for this. There is
a Thunderbird extension available that will let you sync the address
book with MemoToo. Unfortunately, it currently only has the ability to
read *from* your MemoToo account - writing *to* MemoToo is supposedly
going to be implemented soon. However, I found another TB extension
that will "sync" the address book with a remote LDAP server:

http://www.ggbs.de/extensions/#as

Another cool feature of this extension is the ability to automatically
"sync" whenever you open and/or close Thunderbird. BTW, I'm using the
word "sync" advisedly here because this extension doesn't technically
synchronize the LDAP data on a record-by-record basis. Rather, it
exchanges the entire address book as a single chunk - so it won't work
well with multiple users. But for my application it should work just
fine.

I hope this info is helpful to you. I'll certainly keep you posted and
let you know how this all works for me.

best,
JohnB
